Ok so this is my first project with the circular knitting needles. I should start by telling you that I worked a 12 hour shift yesterday, we were so slow, and I mean SLOW!!! we had one patient check in at 9am, then a second at 10am, and the third didn't show up until 4:30pm!!! on top of that we were training a float, and we had a PA student with us. So I got bored, finished the dishcloth I was working on, and decided to go to Walmart and buy some baby yarn, while I was there I found some #9 circular knitting needles (yes I have bambo ones also, but they are size 5, too small for me right now). The nurse I was working with taught me a pretty cool little trick with these needles, which let me tell you saved my sanity!! I probably would've thrown the needles in the garbage if she had not saved me. As you know when the needles come out of the package the center is plastic and likes to coil up, so she said if I heat some water in a coffee cup, and then place the plastic center of the needles in the hot water, you can straighten up the plastic in between the needles!! So I left them in there for a few minutes (of course the needles are medal so those were a little warm when I pulled them out) however I was able to straighten it right out, it still curls up some, but not much!!! I get so excited when I learn something new. It is different knitting with the needles, but now I can truly understand all the possiblities that come with circular needles, can't wait!!!! my next goal is to learn how to knit with 3 or 4 double pointed needles at the same time. Need to get comfortable with this first, before I go down that road!!! I found the cutest baby yarn at Walmart, seafoam green and blue, not sure if I can finish this blanket in a month in time for my sister or SIL's baby, or maybe I'll just keep it for myself, in the event I ever get pregnant :)
I'll try and keep you posted.

goes a bit slower then on the machine huh? I started on the double points in the round before I did circs. But yoiu get used to all of it quickly enough. Glad to see you enjoy knitting so much.
I'm kinda surprised I enjoy knitting so much! because it really frustrated me when I first started, now it's more or less a challenge to see if I can get through a project, that's why I started small with dish cloths, at least I can start and finish one in 4 hours!! yes I timed myself, another slow day at work :)
