Tyler and the "Johnny Jump Up"

Yes I know more Tyler stuff, I just can't help it, and yes this is already posted on my facebook account. However!.......I can't show anybody the video at work, because I can't access facebook from work (gee I wonder why?.....) so I decided to post it on my blog so I can show it off :) really it's just so I can show Tyler off to all my co-workers. I figure they get to talk about their kids, I'm gonna talk about my nephews and nieces :)

See Spot Walk October 2009

Last year AJ and I participated in "See Spot Walk" in Boise, you take your dog for a walk down town Boise and the money benefits the Humane Society. We had alot of fun last year, and decided to do it again this year. This year we went with our mom's, and had a team called, I know you'll be impressed, "The Fine Heidbrinks" yes clever I know ;) I don't even think our Mom's knew that we had a team name. Anywho it didn't rain on us, and the dogs did great!! no fights, which always amazes us when there are that many dogs together, and you don't see any dogs fighting, it's wonderful!!!

Belle so excited, she took me for a walk!! she did eventually calm down, it took awhile, but her nerves finally got the best of her, and she tired herself out!!

Scooby Doo, the best looking boxer there!!! he got lots of attention!!

AJ and I, man I look tired!! and I was tired!!! these shots that I am getting that get rid of my hormones, drain all energy that I have, especially when I first get the shot, thankfully it gets better towards the end of the month!! And yes I did make the hat that I am wearing, and the scarf that AJ is wearing. I made those last year, I knew they would come in handy one of these days :)

Scooby Doo and I after "See Spot Walk" I was freezing, it never got above 52 that day!!, so I had sweats on, two long sleeve shirts on, I'm laying on the heating pad, and I curled up next to Scooby so I could get warm. Apparently I fell asleep and so did Scooby, and AJ thought it would be wonderful to get a picture of the two of us!!

It's been awhile, I know.........life is still going........

*Lucky had his left eye removed on Sept 14, he is doing so good. He came home a happy dog, we didn't realize how much pain he was in before he had the surgery. The other dogs are starting to accept him in the pack, he's definitely a momma's boy :) I can't help it!!

*AJ and I have been trying to get pregnant for well over a year now. I had surgery on August 10th and apparently had ALOT of endometriosis all over, and I mean all over, when my doc says that's the worse case he's seen in years, it must've been bad, so he removed what he could, however I still had some on my bowels and bladder...............SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I started on a medication called Depo Lupron which gets rid of all the endometrium in my body, and I mean EVERYWHERE!! what the lovely drug does is basically put me into menopause, it takes away ALL of my hormones!!! and because it does that I now get to take a progesterone, they call it an "add back" it add's back a little bit of hormones to help with any bone loss (lovely huh???) side effects of the progesterone include weight gain, acne, and "female moodiness". So because of that I had some left over phentermine (weight loss pill, energy pill, legal "meth") and my doc said it was ok to take that with all the other stuff I am taking. My mood is pretty even, and by that I mean, I'm not crying one minute and yelling the next, I'm basically brutally honest, and I'm not taking anyones crap!! so much fun for the husband!!

*on Wednesday (tomorrow) it will be 19 weeks since the bank has had our offer!!! ummm enough said on that one :) still waiting, and we will continue to wait because it will be worth it in the end (as long as we end up in the house :) )

Just a little stress in our lives, but healthy stress, I will be pregnant in 8-9 months from now, which will be worth all this, by then we will be in our home!!! I have a great job, and enjoy going to work. I have an extremely patient and supportive husband! I love being married to my best friend, plus I think he's super sexy!!! and he's working, which is amazing especially right now in construction!! Things could be worse, and they really aren't that bad right now....sometimes I just have to remind myself :) OH and the 49ers are 2-0!!! woohoo!!! love football!!!

Tyler at 3 months

Yes I know, I'm a proud Auntie :) just had to post some pictures of Tyler, he is over 3 months now, I believe Melissa said he is 24" long, and weighs 18 lbs, big boy, but so cute!!!

CHAOS

I just love our dogs!! whenever they hear the sirens Scooby Doo and Lucky start howling (this happens quite often, due to a hospital being near by) and then the girls (Belle, and Lacy) join in with their barking, so it gets to be a little noisy around here.

Meet Lucky

By now I'm sure everyone know's that AJ and I are animal lovers, especially dog lovers. We have three wonderful dogs, we were not looking for another dog. Trust me, we live in a tiny little house, the benefit is we have a nice yard for our dogs to run in and play, and on top of that we also take them out to the Owyhees running every weekend. Which is how Lucky came into our lives.

Last Saturday as usual I was working, so AJ decided to take the maniacs out running. He said when he got to our area he saw a dog standing there, he looked a little beaten up, having a hard time walking but he came over to AJ, so AJ gave him so water and picked him up and put him in the truck to ride around while the other dogs were out running around. AJ said as he was continuing down our normal path when he came upon another dog, however the other dog was already dead. Well AJ being AJ, and I can't blame him because I would've done the same, decided to bring the dog home with him. He couldn't just leave him out there with nothing, and he didn't know what else to do. So we talked about it, and decided that we would see how he does at our place, make sure he had food and water to eat and wait until Monday and have him checked out by our Vet. We knew that we could take him to the Humane Society, but I also knew that they would put him down, which yes that is kinder than leaving him out in the desert, but we just couldn't bring ourselves to do that. So we have a new member in our family, and we decided that an appropriate name for him would be Lucky. Because come on, seriously if I come back as a dog in my next life, I want to live with people like AJ and I :)

As you can see here he's a little beat up, we have no idea how he got the wounds on him, we can only speculate. Our Vet said the wound on his eye and the side of his face looks like he may have fallen off a truck bed and landed on that side. So we are putting some ointment on it that the vet gave to us, and it seems to be helping.
It's hard to see in this picture but just above his front shoulder he has another wound, and on the other side of him there is a similar wound, our best guess is that he was shot and the bullet went straight through. That would explain why Lucky cannot feel anything in three of his legs. However he can walk, and gets around pretty good for a cripple :) Lauretta (our vet) said that we could spend 2 grand on an MRI to find out why he doesn't have any feeling in three of his legs. You know that's alot of money, I don't know if I would spend that kind of money on myself or AJ :)

See he can walk, he has a difficult time walking on our hardwood floors and the linoleum (sp) he slips and slides around quite a bit, so we have placed rugs strategically around the house so he can get around better. And then we are borrowing the baby gate from my mother in law Cass to help keep him contained in a carpeted area, if need be. I don't think we really need it anymore though.

Look at him!! How can you not love that face! (or is it a face only a mother could love? :) ) So Lauretta (vet) gave us a couple options, one was to put him down, two is take him to the humane society, where they will put him down, or three we can try and nurse him back to health. So we've decided to nurse him back to health. He is currently taking an antibiotic twice a day, and a steriod along with some ointment for his wounds. I have to say that we have the best vet around, the visit along with the medications for him cost us less than $60. And to have a dog that is so loving, and grateful is the best. Lauretta did say if he does not improve in a week then she recommends that we put him down, and that it will be even more difficult for us if we have to do that. I just couldn't have him put to sleep without trying something. It's my nature, I'm a Medical Assistant, this is what I do. Granted it's with people, but trust me I prefer dogs over most people, not all (yes should've been a vet instead).

Bad Day at Work

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1CjvMTHbKc

Because I work on computers all day long, and when they don't work it becomes quite frustrating, frustrating to the point that I have called IT and have asked them to open their door because there is going to be a computer flying down the hall in a minute. They don't think it's too funny.

Computers are a wonderful amazing thing. However when they don't work, especially when I'm at work, and trying to triage patients that are sick or injured, it becomes very very irritating. I have shown this video to my co-workers and we get the biggest kick out of it.

Hope you enjoy

Road Trip to California

Mom and I left for California on Friday July 24th, and came home Thursday July 30th. It was a nice trip, got to visit with lots of people, do lots of fun things, and enjoy eachothers company. However by the middle of the next week we were both homesick and ready to come home. So here are some pictures of the things we did while we were in California. If you want to see more pictures go to Facebook, I was able to put alot more up on there. Hope you enjoy I know we did :)

Grandma and Grandpas old house in Rocklin
what the backyard looks like now. It looks really nice, just completely different

another angle of the backyard :)

The creek, looked the same to me, still has the beaver dam

The bridge going over to where the garden used to be

where the gardens used to be, kinda sad.....

And then mom and I left Rocklin and visited with Vicki and her family, really enjoyed our visit, this is one of my favorite pictures.

Look how cute he is!! Quinn Nichols....he finally let me take a picture of him :)

Mom waiting for the trolly in San Francisco

the Golden Gate bridge, it was difficult getting a picture of it, because it was covered in fog the whole day. I thought this one turned out pretty good though

Our old house in Fairfield, we lived there from 79-86 doesn't look anything like I remember it. They cut down my climbing tree!! :(

The house Mom grew up in, in Chico. from 52-64

Aunt Lucille, still doing good, and going strong!

Mom and her cousin Mike Bancroft up in Greenwood California (near Auburn) just beautiful up there!!

Mr Ed. One of the four horses Mike and his wife (Char) have. Really enjoyed getting to know Mike and Char, such nice people, and the stories they have of JoJo (grandma) when she was a teenager, were a lot of fun to listen to. Of course on our trip everywhere we went mom got to hear "you look just like your mother" over and over again, it was getting old...but it was still alot of fun. Definitely glad to be home with my family, I sure missed my husband and dogs, and I think they missed me too.

One Year!!

So I've quit smoking many many times in my life, and I believe the longest I have gone is 2 years, and then some sore of "disaster" would happen in my life, usually a break up, and I would start smoking again. So why would this time be different??? This time is different because I'm really done with it!! and I'm under such a microscope at work that I think they would kill me if I started again. Actually when I quit smoking, I quit cold turkey. That was extremely hard, but I did it!! My husband and co-workers survived I didn't end up strangling anyone, which was good because I have the best husband and co-workers out there!! This is what they did for me.

For the whole world to see :)

I didn't work on July 14th, which was my one year anniversary for no longer smoking. So when I got to work on Wednesday the 15th, the lights were turned off, so with turning the lights on this is what I saw at my desk along with a couple of my co-workers jumping out of the exam rooms at me :) I had the best day ever!!! some of my co-workers came in on their days off to congratulate me, and eat cake :) Sharon, Megan, Deb and Carl (Carl was my smoking cessation instructer, and Sharon and Megan are the Director and Assistant Director of Nursing, and my friend Deb) came up and gave me a certificate, coffee card, and lots of hugs. They also decorated the triage room, however somehow I accidentally deleted that picture, the funny thing is not a whole lot of peole asked me why there were balloons and streamers everywhere. Probably because they weren't feeling well, it was usually the children that would ask, of course and so cute!! So I would tell them, it was great if I had a smoker in the triage room with me and they would ask. I generally always give some little speal and offer them Carl's phone number so they have the opportunity to take the smoking cessation class. Anyways it was a great day, and I love my job, I've said that for awhile now, it's just nice to see how many people at Saltzer care and are proud of me, it's amazing!!!

Wyatts knitted sweater

My very first knitted sweater!! Can't believe I made that, and then again I look at it, and I think ya I did make that I can see some mistakes, but I'm seriously trying not to worry about that as much. And considering next month will be a year since I learned how to knit, I'm pretty impressed with myself. Then again you should see me, that's the only thing I am doing when I have free time, and it seems I have alot of it lately, which I'm totally soaking up, because I know one of these days I won't have any time for myself :)
So here's the first of many baby sweaters I will be making. This is a 3-6 month sweater, so hopefully Wyatt (AJ's nephew) will be able to still fit in it when the weather is appropriate for a sweater.
A nurse at work taught me how to make this, on a couple conditions, the first is, I cannot sell any of these sweaters I make using her pattern, and two I cannot give out the pattern. This is her design, and she sells the sweaters she makes at little shops all over. I was just happy that she was willing to share the pattern with me, because these will make wonderful baby shower gifts :)
Oh, and I don't know if you can see the buttons on it, I found a whole bunch of really cute buttons at Michael's yesterday, this one has a giraffe and a monkey on it, I found some ballerina ones, fairies, animals, sports, and all sorts of neat buttons, this is going to be way too much fun :)

Tylers baby blanket

OK, so I'm pretty sure I have some obsessive compulsive behaviors! I started Tylers baby blanket this last Sunday, you know 4 days ago, and I finished it this morning, along with washing it.

I forgot how fast crocheting goes compared to knitting, and so I put about the same amount of time in this as I have with knitting, however I would only be 1/3 of the way done by now, not finished. I did this one different than any other blankets I have crocheted in the past. I'm trying to think outside the crochet box. So what I did with this blanket is a single crochet border, and then inside of the border its double crochet. OK so not really thinking outside the box, however I never try anything different when I crochet, only when I knit, probably because I'm so new at knitting. Anyhow here's a super duper up close picture of the blanket (above), and below is the picture of the final project!! It turned out huge, I haven't measured it, but it will definitely be a blanket he can use for awhile.....well lets hope :)

ta da!! now I am working on knitting the cat in the hat dishcloth, I'm about 1/3 of the way finished :) seriously do you think I need meds for this???? like they say when you quit smoking you trade one addiction for another, thank goodness it ended up being knitting, and crocheting!!

Tyler

One of the nurses I work with made this hat and sweater, which she gave me to give to my nephew. I went over to Melissa's house yesterday for a few hours and played with Tyler. He is getting so big 10lbs!! he'll be 3 weeks old this coming Thursday. So I had to take a couple pictures of him in the outfit, and I can't believe he was actually awake while I took the pictures!

BSU Blanket

I finished my BSU Blanket, so I thought I would post a couple pics of it.

this is a super up close picture of the design, it is a basket weave pattern. It turned out so much better than I had expected

The final project!! yah! I finished it!! honestly I can't believe I made that. In July it will be a year since I learned how to knit, of course thousands of dishclothes and scarves later, I would hope I would be at this point in my knitting. Can't wait to learn how to knit outfits!!

Our Garden

Every year we plant a garden, and every year it gets bigger. This year due to our weekends being over booked, I ended up planting the garden, and picking out the vegetables by myself, we usually do all this stuff together. yes we are one of "those" couples :) but I love it :)

As you may be able to see in the very back I planted four different kinds of tomato plants, I can never remember exactly what kind of plants I planted so I try to leave the label thingy in the ground, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I've also got two jalapeno plants (for AJ, and salsa), a yellow pepper plant, bell pepper plant, onions, cucumbers, romaine lettuce, oregano, and basil. This is the first year we have planted onions, cucumbers, lettuce and oregano, see what I mean about our garden getting bigger every year, this year I just went all out. Really wanted to plant some melons, and strawberries, however with us moving sometime this year I didn't want to go way over board, and then I hear strawberries take a season before you get any. Can't wait till we have our own home!!! I'm super excited, I love going out to our garden and picking our veggies, plus we have everything to make a wonderful salad.

This is when our garden looks the best, with busy lives we seem to get behind on our weeding responsibilities.

A hobbie that I would like to learn is canning. We usually get tons of tomatoes and I would love to be able to can salsa.

let me introduce our two new Nephews, Wyatt and Tyler

Wyatt William Link born 5-8-09 6lbs 9oz's 20" long

AJ holding his new nephew. KC, AJ's sister had a pretty uneventful delivery with Wyatt, the Dr broke her water at 0800am and one hour later there was little Wyatt. However he did need to go back to the Dr's and have labs drawn for 4 days in a row, something to do with the whole Rh- factor. Yes I know, I work in the medical field, but honestly I know very little when it comes to OB/GYN stuff. Healthy baby boy otherwise, sleeps all the time!! still haven't seen him with his eyes open.

Tyler Dirk Bodily born 5-14-09 9lbs 6oz's and 22" long, and a 15" head!!!

Poor Melissa!!! she was induced at 0800am on the 14th and gave birth to Tyler around 1000pm that night! however she pushed for four hours straight, and when there was no improvement they ended up taking him C-Section. In the photo above he is only 14 hours old, and unfortunately in NICU. His first night he stopped breathing a couple times (sleep apnea) however he started breathing again on his own. And then since he is so huge his blood sugar dropped, so they felt it would be best for Tyler to be monitored in NICU. Thankfully he has been doing great ever since, all test came back normal and everyone is going home today!!! YEAH!!!

Tyler and I the following day, he's not a fan of the flash on a camera, poor little guy he just wants to eat and sleep. Can't wait to get to know the little guy some more!!!

What a huge difference in size between our two nephews, I'm sure hoping I don't have big babies like my sister. However she will be going straight for a C-Section with the rest of the babies she has, so at least she won't have to go through this ordeal again. AJ and I now have a combined total of 14 nieces and nephews!! 2 on AJ's side of the family. There are benefits of being the oldest in a large family, it just takes years to get there :)

Baby Wyatt's Blanket

So here's the finished product. I ended up taking the other blanket out (took it with me too work and one of the nurses helped me unravel it) we figured I had put 28 hours into making that one blanket. Oh well looks better now, I think. So this is baby Wyatts blanket, my first finished knitted blanket!! Now I'm working on an adult size blanket, BSU colors :) it's coming out fabulous, will post when finished with it.

hmmmmmm............Practice makes perfect

SOOOO I finished the blanket, and this is how it turned out. I am not impressed with it, however I plan on going to the store to get some more yarn, and start another baby blanket today. The only reason why I posted this, is so I can document my progress with knitting. So with that being said, now I know you really do need to count your cast ons, I did but not until the end, and I couldn't visualize how long that would be (222 cast on's, and I believe it's 130 rows approx) I thought I had the width down with only two skeins of yarn, it looks like I should've continued knitting another two skeins and it would've been a good size blanket. Didn't come up with that thought until I was casting off. Oh well, practice makes perfect right?? and this was my very first knitted blanket, I have to say it doesn't look as bad as some of my first crochetted blankets, of course I was 12 at the time :)

Road Trip to Utah

On our first full day in Utah we decided we wanted to check out the Great Salt Lake, neither one of us has ever been there before, so I found this place called Antelope Island. They have all types of animals living on the island, we saw Bison, Antelope, Fox, Coyote, Deer and all sorts of interesting birds. Definitely something I think everyone needs to check out if they are going to be in the area!!

On our way to Ed and Jamies we decided to stop at Temple Square, AJ has never been there, and it's been a long time since I have stopped and checked it out. Can't believe how much Salt Lake has grown!!

The first night we stayed with Ed and his family I wanted to go out to the Mayan Restaurant. About every 40 minutes, they have a show, and this is where one of the characters is getting ready to dive into the water, it's pretty interesting!! can't remember if the food was any good, just remember running up there with the kids to watch the show!

AJ and I stayed a couple nights with Ed and his family. Rohnin is getting so big!! he loves Sponge Bob and that's all we heard about while we were there. Rohnin has a special little dance that goes with the theme song! Wish I would've recorded him dancing.

The whole reason we went to Utah, was to watch the supercross race. It was alot of fun, we went with Ed and his kids, BrieOcea, Lucas, and Traedon. I think Lucas had the most fun out of all four of them :) As you can see, that is James Stewart finishing up the race as the winner!

Bridal Veil Falls Provo Canyon!! I wanted to show AJ the mountains in Provo, however we picked a day where it snowed big quarter size snow flakes!!! and this is what we saw....still beautiful!

Couldn't see the Y on the mountain, so we took a picture of this one :)

Shoshone Falls absolutely breath taking!! it only flows real strong during the spring run off. We stopped in Twin Falls on our way home to check out the falls.
