The Table Cloth

Back in February this year a friend re-taught me how to crochet granny squares. I have been going crazy with making blankets and working on this table cloth. I decided when I started the table cloth, this was going to me MINE!!!! I knew it would take me awhile, and I'm tired of giving away my crafts to everyone. Now when I made the blankets (I really should just do a post on those ones alone) I made a whole bunch of squares and then crocheted them together. Well as you can see with the table cloth it is one Giant Granny square. Hmmmm now how do you make a square turn into a rectangle??? SO now that I am done with the width of the table cloth I am working on the length, and just moving across the rows back and forth in the same pattern. Wasn't sure how that would work, but it seems to be coming along just fine.
HOWEVER the next table cloth I do make I will make it similar to the blankets, small squares and then sew them together!! it would take me 20 minutes to crochet one side of this giant square!! yes I timed myself ;) but there is no way I'm taking out all my work and starting over!!! that's just crazy talk!! so the next one, and yes there will be a next one, won't drive me insane like this one. But I love it!!!

(see that tiny thread? honestly don't know how many I have gone through, but it's to the point I could only go around the square 3 1/2 times with one of those!)

(such a cute tiny square)

School???..........Seriously???

This blog is beginning to remind me of my journal; sporadically entering information about my life. :)

I am starting school August 27th!!! It's almost terrifying, mixed in with some excitement. It was 7 years ago that I went to American Institute of Health Technologies to become an MA (Medical Assistant), program was 8 months long, 5 months of it was classroom time, and the rest was my externship. 2001 was the last time I went to a "conventional" college, which was Treasure Valley Community College. So it's been awhile. However I finally know what I want to be when I "grow" up :) an RN!! I have the confidence in myself to know that I will be a great nurse, it's something that I was born to do. Still terrifies me a little bit, that failure aspect of it all, with the classes and so on. And then I remind myself that I'm 33, a confident woman, who loves being an MA but has surpassed the MA degree, and it's now time to move on. The freaky part about everything, which tells me the universe is saying "GO BACK TO SCHOOL". It was soooo easy!! the whole process. I kinda did it all with the attitude "well if it's meant to happen it will happen" so I did my part. Filled out my FAFSA, waited, got a reply from CWI, followed their steps, filled out the application, and so on. The next thing I know I'm taking my transcript from TVCC (Treasure Valley Community College) into CWI (College of Western Idaho) by the way, this was my first time ever being at the college!! I hand in my transcript, asked what was next, and the guy said "well lets get you your student ID" hmmm hadn't received the letter of acceptance yet, so I guess this means I'm accepted!? I say sure and the next thing I know he hands me my student ID #, I said ok, what's next? the next thing I know, I'm holding my student ID with my picture on it, and signing up for classes!! I walked into CWI for the first time, to just drop off my transcript, I walked out a CWI student already registered for classes!! freaky?? ya, it was weird. I've received my awards letter for student aide, so I'm set to go!! I go in a week before classes and get my books, which they will apply to my funds for school!! how cool is that? I am starting school August 27th, and it's not costing me a dime out of pocket. Well I do want to go shopping for school clothes :)
My schedule works out perfect so that I can work full time, and go to school (almost) full time (11 credits) with 2 days off a week :) Since I already work 3 12 hours shifts a week, its perfect! I have Chemistry Lab Friday nights, and on Saturday from 10am-7:45pm I will be at CWI for my chemistry, algebra, and English classes :)
Wish me luck, I will need it. Who knows when I'll be able to get back on here to post again, I need to make this a regular thing. But time is of the essence, and shortly I will have little of it. However I know it's worth it!!

We are absolutely loving our new home!!! I thought I would post some pictures :)
